Uses

This combination drug is used for the prevention of pregnancy. Two hormones are combined in this medicine. It causes the thickening of the vaginal fluid so that it becomes difficult for the sperm to fertilize an egg. It also alters the uterine lining so that the fertilized egg does not get attached to it. The fertilized egg is passed out from the body if not attached to the uterus. Besides the prevention of pregnancy, birth control pills also maintain your menstrual cycle, reduce painful periods and blood loss, reduce the chances of ovarian cysts and also cure acne.

How To Use

Take this medicine orally as prescribed by your doctor usually one pill in a day. Read the instructions given on the package to find the first pill and take them in a proper order. Avoid any skipped or missed doses. Take this drug after dinner or during bedtime to reduce the risk of indigestion and nausea.

Desogestrel

Desogestrel is a synthetic progestin, a type of hormonal medication that is used primarily in combination with ethinyl estradiol as an oral contraceptive (birth control pill). It works by preventing ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary) and also by changing the cervical mucus and the uterine lining, making it less favorable for sperm movement and implantation.

Desogestrel is a "third-generation" progestin and is considered a more modern and potent form of progestin compared to earlier generations. It is used in various birth control pills and is known for its relatively lower androgenic side effects compared to some other progestins.
